   I’m sure movies can’t do justice to what it must have been like to see the birth of America unfold. To experience the emotion as delegates signed the Declaration of Independence ushering in war to secure freedom from England. It wasn’t just breaking from England that motivated the declaration but conviction there was a better way to build and maintain a nation than had been seen.

   I wonder if they could peer through time what they would say about where we have come. Just in my own time I never dreamed I would sit in a driver’s seat and watch as a car drove from one place to another without me lifting a finger. I can imagine the shock and amazement at seeing the advance of technology from 250 years ago.

   On the other hand, I think they would scratch their heads in disappointment at some of the things we have adopted and tolerated over the years. To some this is not the America they envisioned.

   I do believe America was founded on Biblical principles and many of our forefathers intended to form a nation that followed Christianity. We have had many great Godly leaders who have stood on their convictions and others who have tried to tear down those beliefs. It has been an interesting 250 years to say the least.

   Now we find ourselves here, in this moment with a choice to make. Just as our forefathers chose to act on their convictions and even die for what was right rather than simply complain about all the things they believed were wrong, it’s our turn to stand and be counted for what is right and just.

   We have an amazing opportunity before us to use the resources available to us in reaching the world for Jesus Christ. We can truly change the world one soul at a time. Who would have thought those colonists could ever break free from England? It just reminds us that if God is in in it nothing can stop it. So, be bold, courageous and true to God’s leadership and He will bless our nation!
